Myrto Moraitou is an international violinist who performs as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and America. In recent seasons, she has appeared in numerous concerts in the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Sweden, Mexico, and Cuba.
Myrto Moraitou is one of the founding members of the Lebet String Quartet. The LSQ performed several recitals throughout Europe from 2011 till 2016 and won 1st prize in many competitions such as the Grote Kamermuziek Prijs in the Netherlands and the VII Concorso Musicale Citta’ Di Filadelfia with the special Paolo Serrao award in Italy.
Myrto Moraitou has performed with numerous orchestras, including the Metropole Orchestra of the Netherlands, the Symphony Orchestra of Cuba, the Athens Symphony Orchestra, and the Soloists of Patras. Her repertoire encompasses great classics and innovative works as well as crossovers. She has appeared in the Carnegie Hall in New York, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, de Doelen in Rotterdam, Megaron Mousikis in Athens, Sala Covarrubias in the National Theater of Cuba, and several other concert halls. Among different festivals, she performed at the International Festival of Patras, Greece, and the Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana, Cuba.
Myrto Moraitou made her debut as a soloist at the age of 11 with the Soloists of Patras under the baton of Saulius Sondeckis. Ms. Moraitou earned a Master of Music from Codarts, University of Arts where she studied with Igor Gruppman and Vesna Gruppman.
Myrto Moraitou is currently playing on a 19th-century violin labeled Jo. Baptista Ceruti granted by the National Muziekinstrumenten Fonds of the Netherlands.
